iSync lets you manage your contacts, calendars, To Do lists, and Safari bookmarks across multiple Mac OS X computers and devices (such as an iSync-compatible mobile phone, Palm OS device, or iPod), so you always have your most current information with you. To sync a Palm OS device, you need to install the iSync Palm Conduit version 1.2 or later.
iSync 1.4 includes support for more Symbian OS smart phones and the iPod mini, as well as stability improvements.
Before you install iSync 1.4, you must install iCal 1.5.1 or later. To download the latest version of iCal, visit www.apple.com/ical.
If you are using Mac OS X version 10.3 and plan to synchronize a Bluetooth mobile phone, you need to have Bluetooth version 1.5 or later installed. To download it, use Software Update (in System Preferences). If you have an earlier version of Mac OS X, visit www.apple.com/isync to download the appropriate Bluetooth version.

Cool, more Symbian support.
It says Nokia 6600 is supported, and syncing works fine now, but I can't get Address Book to notify me of incoming calls
I did fool around with the SymbianConduit file, but I think this update should have replaced that one.

Same here (same phone). I can SMS from address book, but it won't receive calls or incoming SMS.

What the nerd community most often fail to realize is that all features aren't equal. A well implemented and well integrated feature in a convenient interface is worth way more than the same feature implemented crappy, or accessed through a annoying interface.

6600 support looks good - contact synch with photos, calender synch 'memo' (all day) items, todo items synch - cool !
I think the AddressBook/bluetooth thing is something that would have to covered by a new Addressbook app, not by iSynch.

Works perfectly well so far But of course I had a lot of editing to do after my 1st iSync with the 6600.. Everything that was in the phone was then on my macs, and everything that was on the Macs, was then in my phone. I had something like 140 contacts that I had to edit down to about 80 or so, as so many became duplicated. At least this is something that only needs to be done once..
I dont know anything about this SMS thing however? Can any of you guys point me in the right direction as to how I SMS from my mac via 6600? I did look around, but didnt find an obvious way to do it..
Thanks

Well, if you open AddressBook, and you have a contact with a mobile phone number, you can click on "mobile" just before the actual number. You can choose from
- Large type
- SMS message
- Dial with "whatever phone is connected to your Mac".
Very fun, and very interesting, as incoming calls and sms appear on your screen.
Moreover, people are shocked by the speed you develop sending them replies to their sms: you type on your Mac keyboard instead of your phone keyboard

Many thanks! I'll give that a go..
Also, quick question for you 6600 guys.. When synching to the phone, I get an error on the phone. Something along the lines of "AppClosedAppArcServerTheRead !" at which point all I can do is press ok. Phone goes a bit slow for a moment, But afterwards everything is ok and it is synced up fine. Erm.. Any one else had that??
[EDIT] Just tried the SMS thing and I see the 3 options.. But "SMS" & "Dial With Cell Phone" are greyed out..
[Re-EDIT] think I got it now.. Phone needed to be re-paired with the address book or something..

You need to click on the bluetooth button in the Addressbook window first

To the people that have the Nokia 6600 where did you buy it, how much did you pay and who is your provider.
I haven't been able to find it in US stores.

Judging from the location field, I'd guess the people with 6600 in this thread bought theirs either in the UK or Finland

Yeah, I guess so.
The Address Book Help boldly promises to do this with any paired phone, so a bit too much optimism on their behalf there.

I think the 6600 is mostly for the european market (Readily available here in the UK where I am). I have read reports of a very similar but slightly different model coming out soon for the US market. The
'6620'
6600 is great however. My only gripe being that the UI is kinda slow in places.
The SMS trick from the address book worked by the way.. But it took forever to send! Like 10 minutes or something stupid like that.
Still some minor gremlins in the works I think. But a whole lot better than no iSync for the 6600 at all.

It's near-instantaneous for me, hmm. Try again?

I love the 6600 - I got mine for about £40 all told, when signing up for a new contract, and they gave me a £100-off voucher if I buy another one....
The 6600 is the first phone with a calendar that really works for me. There is a tiny bit of slowness in the screen redraw, but it's not too bad. I love the fact that I can photograph a friend and add them to my contacts, and that photo appears on the phone, in the Mac Address Book, against their email in Mail, and even in iChat ! That's integration for you !

Hmm, I'll try the SMS thing again sometime..
I think my phone might need updating or something though.. As it has a problem with Java. Plus some other problems that no one else seems to have with their 6600.. Grrr!
Gee4orce.. yes the pics thing is cool. But when someone calls you and you see their pic, it is very small.. I got hold of an app called "FS(FullScreen)caller" which makes it much bigger.
Also, have you got 'Agile Messenger'? its free, and very good.. Does AIM, ICQ, Yahoo, MSN and jabber. Quite useful to have on a phone at times.
Gremlins asside, it's still a very cool phone
PS, Even better with more ram in too.. I got more from Crucial.
