Well, you can get a lot of good info from http://www.apple.com.

Otherwise search here, or do a Google search for whatever you're looking for.

"All the operating details" is a pretty tall order. Keep in mind that there's Unix underneath; there are people who've been using Unix for over twenty years and still don't know everything. It's that powerful.

That said, where would you like to start? Apple.com is a good jumping-off point, but is there any particular area you'd like to focus on for now?

Not comprehensive how-to's exactly, but they can be vey useful sites:

http://www.macosxhints.com/

http://www.osxfaq.com/

http://www.macfixit.com/

And of course, ask questions here.

hardcool, you are a total JERK!!! WE HATE YOU NEW GUY... oh... wait... this is MacNN, sorry.

But seriously, make a long list of questions and post them in this forum. Google will help with many if not all of them, but http://www.apple.com will give you most of what you need.

The ONLY time I tell people not to switch is when there is some crazy application that they use every day for critical applications.

Other then Applications that aren't on the Mac, there isn't a good reason.

Come on over...

Welcome welcome welcome. ^_^

I made the switch almost a year ago, than this place is what helped me through everything and how I learn a lot about using a Mac and its great OS. I've talked and helped 6 of my friends switched over to Mac since.

Just ask anything you would like to know on this forum, and more than likely, you will get the answer you seek.

Yeah, fire away with whatever questions you have. We'll help you out the best that we can.

One tip I can give you is to download TinkerTool, which is available here:

http://www.bresink.de/osx/TinkerTool.html

TinkerTool lets you change many hidden settings in OS X, including one really cool feature that lets you put both the scroll bar arrows on both ends of the scroll bar.

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!
