I was just surfing the macnn archives and found a comment by jwblase (the last comment in the thread).

She/he wonders if Elf Bowling will be released for OS X! And I have to say that I'm disappointed that it has never been released. :-(
Is there a porting project available?
p.s. I love surfing the old threads from time to time.
p.p.s. sorry, this should be in the software forum.

I wonder if the original poster is still an active member? Hey, jwblase, are you still with us?

Unfortunately he was hit by a bus on the way to his local Apple Center to pick up his copy of OSX Public Beta.
He never got his copy.

oh my god!
At least than, he's not posting here every week or two that his beloved Elf Bowling is still not ported yet.
The more I think about it ... I wish it was.

Believe it or not... I'm not dead! I just "retired" my old B/W 400 mhz G3 tower (now maxed out with 1GB of RAM, a 60 GB drive, and a Radeon card for a new, spiffy 1.8SP G5 tower (aren't education discounts a wonderful thing!)
Damn. Elf Bowling hasn't been ported yet. Will someone get on that one?!?
I still have my copy of the Public Beta, along with my copies of X, X.1, X.2, and X.3. I even have my old Powerbook 190cs up in the attic (and it still works with System 8.1!)
Strangely enough, I saw this forum the day it started, but never bothered to read it. Ironic that I got a message about it.
On a serious note though: I can't help but find it funny that over the course of time, many people said to the mac community, "X will never take off... Apple's dying, and the Mac is dead." Hogwash. I don't need to mention to everyone here how things are going in the Mac World, but can't help but laugh at everyone who tells me (my own IT manager at the school I run, for one), "Macs won't cut it. We can't use them. They're not compatible." What a crock of horse pucky (as my cousin from Texas says).
It's nice to see the forum community checking up on me, though. It makes me feel loved as a Mac user.
JB
P.S. Where's my damn Elf Bowling... That one cracked me up way back in college!

I totally agree! Elf Bowling is my #1 vapor ware for the Mac!

I guess Apple will survive and stay compatible until they are bought by... lets see... Sony?!
Although I must admit that I had some compatibility issues with OSes prior to OS X.

We should start an online petition!

You never heard of Elf Bowling? Oh man! And you have "Half-Life S-U-C-K-S" in your sig... If you hate that game, you'll love EB.
Just imagine... video bowling... replacing pins with elves... Santa in a bad mood... Reindeer parts... It was just good fun!
