This is not my iMac. If it were, it would be running 10.3.2. As it is, it has 10.1.5 installed, and the hastle involved in upgrading it (I have never used this machine before and the person it belongs to is a complete novice) means my only option is to leave it at 10.1.5.

All that having been said, the problem I'm having is that I can't get the OS to let me type in a 64-bit hex password for my local wireless network. It will let me type in a 128-bit one, but there is no option in the pull down menu to enter a 64-bit one. Does anyone know how I might go about entering one?

Please, urgent help is needed.

which version of Airport software do you use? I believe the latest one for 10.1.5 is 3.0.3... maybe upgrading would help?

Damn, sorry, I forgot about this thread. It's all sorted now, the person whose iMac it was knew a little bit more about Macs than I thought, and so asked if I could update it to 10.3. So I did, and now all is well.

On a side note, I've never done an archive and install before, always opting to format the drive first. But it was mighty painless, resulting in a clean system of Panther with all of her settings intact. Shan't use it on my own machines, of course, but nice to know it works as advertised.
