I have very interesting problem concerning displaying icons in menu bar (my system Panther 10.3). Everything is ok when FileVault in Security is not launched. But when it is launched the icon of Bluetooth doesn?t want to display with others. They appear all but without Bluetooth, or only Bluetooth icon. I want to stress that in System Preferences is set that there should always display Bluetooth. I did installation of system again and downloaded all updates. I also excluded in Preferences showing Bluetooth icon in menu bar. Strange is that after restart in Preferences is marked to display it but it didn?t show in menu bar. I was trying also to power down Bluetooth but after restart it is powered on.
It is a little bit burdensome because always when I power on my computer I have to mark showing Date & Time, Energy Saver, International icon etc. Thank you for any help and sorry for any language mistakes which I?ve done but my English isn?t perfect.

I would try repairing permissions.

If you don't know how in the Finder choose Go Menu - Utilities and then open up the Disk Utility application. Select your Hard Drive and then click on the button "Repair Disk Permission".

Try restarting and seeing if that helps anything.

That is my guess anyways!

Your English is just fine!

You probably have a corrupt preference file, specifically 'systemuiserver.plist'. But there may be two of them, and it is best to delete your caches as well, so ...

In "/Users/<yourname>/Library/Caches", delete everything
In "/Users/<yourname>/Library/Preferences", delete com.apple.systemuiserver.plist
In "/Users/<yourname>/Library/Preferences/ByHost", delete com.apple.systemuiserver.xxx.plist where 'xxx' is a 12 digit (hexadecimal) numeric string.

Then log out and back in again. You may need to go to System Preferences to put back the menu items you need to display.

Let us know if this helps.
