WTF?

Eject and volume buttons all of a sudden are inoperable after upgrade from 10.2 to 10.3 on my 17" iMac G4 800Mhz.

Currently updated to 10.3.2 and even archived & re-installed OSX and problem did not go away. Only way to open optical drive tray is to open & close via software like iTunes, etc. And only way to control volume and mute is via menu bar icon. This sux. Every other key on my Apple keyboard works though.

Would call Apple support now but left my cell in NY

Any ideas?

Searched the archives and no luck.

Thanks.

This is one of the oldest errors that has been covered in many threads since 10.3 came out:

- download the latest update for USB Overdrive and install it
- if you don't use USB overdrive then download the latest version of the third party USB driver you use (I used Logitech) and do a fresh installation

Have fun!
