I want to log into my home computer from work and run some X11 apps. When I log in locally, I set the display using 'export DISPLAY=:0'. I have some vague recollection that this is a security problem for some reason. Can someone elaborate on the secure way to log in and run X11 apps remotely?

Thanks,
kman

Okay. I changed my sshd_config file to 'X11Forward yes' and it now lets me log in with 'ssh -X username@mymachine.org' and I can run x11 apps okay. It gives me the following warning though and I am wondering if this is bad:

kCGErrorRangeCheck : Window Server communications from outside of session allowed for root and console user only

That warning just means that you did something to try to launch a Quartz app and it won't let you because there is someone else logged in (or not logged in).
