Screen goes to the left of monitor.

After I installed 10.2.6 on a friend’s computer her screen went to the left of the monitor now this does not happen all the time. It does become annoying, as she has to reboot the computer a couple of times to get the screen centered on the monitor again.

Any thoughts or ideas are welcomed.

Which type of Mac is it? I would try to update to 10.2.8 to make sure you have the latest bug fixes (an possibly updated video drivers).

You can also try to reset the PRAM and see if it helps (press command-option-P-R during boot).

Is this an external monitor? Have you tried using the monitor's controls to recenter the display? Monitors will use different settings for different refresh rates and resolutions.

The computer is a dual 500 G4 as to the monitor it's a Viewsonic Graphics Series. As to resetting the monitor I have done this as well.

I hope this helps.
