Hello!

Some how my computer got stuck in a resolution the monitor couldn't handle, so black screen.

I attempted to hit the menu by luc, but to no avail.

Is there a way to change the resolution at start up?

In the end I reinstalled X...

If you hold shift during boot just after the startup tone until you see the progressbar, OS X will boot in safe mode.

Also, if I remember correcly, a PRAM reset (command-option-P-R) should reset the resolution the default. (not sure though)
