You did not give much info about what you were doing. If you need to connect to the Network System Preference, select System Preferences… from the blue apple menu and click of the Network icon.

If you have created an alias for this System Pref, select the alias with a single click and then press command-i and click on Select new original, then navigate to the Network.prefpane in /System.

I had the same error, don't know what's happen, it's not here anymore.

Can you provide a little more information about the server share you are trying to connect to? Is it a PC, or a Mac share? Possibly the computer's IP address has changed or their firewall is on.

It's the sidebar icon "Network", not a network share. Sounds like a reboot might help... or maybe his Finder is screwy.

Rebooting does not help....
I'm not sure what additional information you want, it's the Network Browser button located on the finder that everyone has. Yes network OPTIONS in system preferences works but that's an entirely different thing.

I think I had that once, though I believe a reboot cured it.

Maybe try repairing permissions if you haven't already.

I'm having the same problem. I have repaired permissions and rebooted, and it is still there. I am about to start blaming the airport update . . .
