Over the weekend, our IT dept migrated to a new server. They went from novell 5.1 to netware 6. When I got in to work today, all the icons on the server were generic. In order to open a quark file I had to manually add a .qxd onto the end of it and then open the file. Same thing for all linked assets. Any idea what could help this? The data was copied using a PC based file migration utility. And we connect to the server using NFAP.

Thanks

If the files did not have extensions, then the file type would have been stored in the resource fork (or an analogous hidden file), which would have likely been lost in using a PC based file utility.
