I have a tibook and a flat panel imac both running panther... is there anyway to 'sync' the users? Kristin and I are hte only ones who use them, and it'd be nice if we both didn't have to tweak all our user settings and desktop stuff TWICE.... is there anyway to get them to agree with each other (the imac and tibook)?

You could run one of them over at high speed.

Then you would only have one computer to deal with and wouldn't need to transfer any settings.

Try searching for a program called RSyncX.

If you don't need a permanent synchronisation but just help with a setup you can try copying the private ~/Library folders. But then stuff is often faster done anew than copied and synched.

1. create users on both machines with exact same username and password.

2. Use Carbon Copy Cloner to copy /Users form one to the other.

.Mac and iSync are your friends. You can also use Backup to backup your Prefs and Passowrds and stuff and then restore it on your other Mac. That in combination with .Mac and iSync are also another good and simple choice.
