Finder Icon Arranging gone strange...

	I have my finder window set up so that when I go into applications it has all the icons in 3 columns (with size 48). Now for some reason (I touched nuttin' I swear!) whenever I arrange by name they go into 2 columns unless the window is huge - way bigger than it needs to be. Why is this, and why has it suddenly occurred?
