Well first, you can see my specs at the bottom of my post. Second, i've got a business that i'm heavily using my iMac for. DVD authoring, video manipulation and the such. Usually when i'm burning a DVD i like to use the background encoding feature. My question is whether i can have my Mac do that in the background and possibly even burn a DVD while i'm on another users name? I want to be able to keep work completely seperate from my personal stuff. I feel that a seperate user name would accomplish this, but i want to be able to switch back without having iDVD quit out on me. Soooo, will it keep background encoding while i'm on another name, and if so, will it also burn a DVD while on that other name? Thanks!!!

Not having a DVD writer myself, I wouldn't know. Why not try it out and see if it works (and report back the results)?

There are some apps I've noticed that may "pause", however, when user switching takes effect. For example, I notice that iTunes pauses playback, and what's worse is that I can't run another copy of iTunes using a different user while the other copy is running. I've not tried it with other apps, though.
