Ref. 500MH Sawtooth G4. This machine will not dial-up connect using the Apple Internal 56K Modem (v90) script. It goes part way through the dial-up process and immediately disconnects saying that I have a modem error. There is no dial-up sound. It will connect using the Hayes Accura 56K script. It will connect using the Apple (v90) script when running OS 9.2.2. To isolate the problem, I have zeroed the drive and installed only Panther 10.3 from the CD, no other updates or apps are installed. The problem persists. I am told that the modem is OK because it will dial up using OS 9.2.2. I have no problem with my G4 PB running OS 10.3.2. I am told I should live with the Hayes script solution because it is probably not a bad modem. That might be OK, but I was having a problem with Hayes when I had a full load of updates and apps installed. It would never connect and when I tried to disconnect a kernal panic would occurr. Has anyone had a similar situation or have recommendations on fixing the problem or replacing the modem?

No, it will not. Someone has suggested I reset the modem script. I have not had the chance to try this. Any ideas on this?
