Hi

Is it possible, once I've installed my computer, to use my restore DVD to add an application I left out? Like IE or, in my case, the "extra printer drivers"? I apparently need them for my HP Deskjet 3650...

Thanks

Wouldn't it be easier to download the drivers from HP's website? They're probably more current than the ones on the CD anyway.

I did a google search and came up with someone saying that when they ran the HP installer, no device appeared, and that eventually they solved it by re-installing and adding support for the extra printer drivers. I take it there's no way to add them after the install?

Oh, looks like all the pkg files are on the DVD. And it looks like the additional printer drivers pkg simply installs the HP pkg, so I have it. Thanks anyway! I'll try HP's website.

Well, that didn't work very well. I installed the drivers and guess what, they don't appear in the printers list. It installed a bunch of files to /Library/Printers/hp/deskjet. In /Library/Printers/hp/Utilities there is a "Printer Model Data Files" folder, which includes a ".plst" file for my printer model, but like I said it's not showing up anywhere. Are these files in the wrong location? How do I get them to appear?
