robert% top
/usr/bin/top: /usr/bin/top: cannot execute binary file
Any ideas what would cause that? It's a relatively fresh install of 10.2.8.

Anyone know where the source for top is? Perhaps I can just recompile it? Is there a binary available?

I'm stumped on this one.

Other commands work just fine too.
I always use protection when fscking my Mac... Do you?

What's your output from 'file /usr/bin/top' ?

Mine:

/usr/bin/top: setuid Mach-O executable ppc

Thanks for the new command. I didn't know about file. I'm always happy to learn stuff like that after a few years of being comfortable in the command line.
