I did the 10.3.3 update thang on a work persons home puter, when running disk utility on next start up it gives that msg, I know its got to do with the receipts that they deleted from the folder in an attempt to get some hdd space back, is it possible to "fix" it so repair permissions can be done?.. I have tried a few other apps to do it and they all fail to repair as well, suggestions welcomed.

edit - never mind I found a solution.. just cant delete the thread !

Mods kill as reqd, thx

Someone somewhere posted an advisory that MacAddict (or perhaps Macworld) had erroneously suggested one could trash the Library's receipts. If this is done, Disk Utility will be unable to repair permissions.
