I own AEBS and i'm sick tired of it getting disconnected from time to time-- like it just did disconnected on me for no reason then in 1 minute later it got connected back on itself!?

Also- sometimes it completely disconnected on me until I had to 'press' restart in the back of Aiprot base station and some struggling and it gets back on? why??

Anyone??

I get that sometimes. The computer will just completely lose the signal, even if I am right next to the base station. I have no idea why.

Exactly! and the signal strength on the topbar doesnt show full maybe 3 bars out of 4 bars showing.. (even though the base station's right next to me.)

What computer do you have? Mine's a TiBook, so it could be a problem with them.

Mine's 15.2 AlBook (2nd rev). So I dont think the model are the problem. I think something has to do with the connection setting or some thing like that.

hmm, i have never had that happen. i am using a pb17"/1.33 with a netgear 802.11b wireless router.

although for some reason, airport doesn´t automatically connect to my home network ... whereas it works beautifully with my wlan at work.

I don't believe the 3.3.1 update changed the version # on Airport Admin Utility actually...

I have the same problem, only happening in the last couple of weeks. I thought it was the 3.3.1 update, so I downgraded, but no dice.

The Apple Support discussion boards seems to indicate that it's a DHCP lease issue.

But your emoticon is right. It's maddening.

Same thing happened to me when I'm heavily using the connection.

Airport will disconnect from time to time when it's overloaded. I don't think we will see a fix for this anytime soon

---

Maybe the real problem could be that your Airport is smoking too much pot hence the thread title (Airpot)

i just set up a hotel network with 19 (!) access points, and even sitting 20 ft away with 98% signal it disconnects for a few seconds every so often. makes maintaining a ssh or im connection quite difficult. i have no idea why it happens...

We had the same problem with one of the two base stations, purchased last spring. Returned the flaky airport to Apple about two months ago and installed the replacement today. The installation seemed smoother than previously and the new airport now broadcasts it's MAC hardware address to the DHCP server.
