Hi, a friend of mine is new to mac's.
They have been using photoshop on windows for a while, and they can't seem to get used to not having a background to there programs like windows does.... now they need to use a mac.

Windows uses a modual windows system... [MDA]..

The confusion is mostly evident in Photoshop with it's floating menus... is there an app that kind of tints the background and hides the other apps, sort of like the f10 key does on panther? But allows you to work in that mode..... one app at a time...

wacky i know ... but i'm just checking..
and yes i told them about the hide other apps function in finder, but "it's not helping, cause i keep forgetting to turn it on"

thanks for any help

AutoHide v1.3.8
AutoHide is a simple background application that will automatically hide applications after you switch out of them. This is convent if you work with applications that have many windows and switch between them often. AutoHide will automatically hide your other applications, reducing screen clutter and making a cleaner work environment.

I haven't tried this app yet but I think it does what your friend is looking for:
