I have 10.3 and have been using it now for about 2 weeks. Today the mail program erased all emails in the INBOX prior to Feb 20-04. There were only 90 emails in the box and it erased about 45 of them.
I have never had this problem before with mail, has any one else?
Thanks, Debi

Haven't heard of that, but if you haven't already I'd recommend updating to 10.3.3. I have heard of Mail acting funny when drive space is getting low...

Are the e-mails actually gone, or just moved into the Trash in Mail?

Are you using only one email account or more than one? Were all the missing emails from one account?

We recently switched from dial up service to DSL. That is a nightmare also. we have 3 pc's and 1 mac and the pc's work fine with the wireless d-link. Aparently d-link does not have a driver for 10.3 for the wireless device #DWL122 I have hooked up to the mac. so it is a on and off situation as far as being on line all the time. it seems to work well as long as i dont turn the computer off ... if i turn it off i have to go threw about 15 minutes of trying to get back online.
I have been told by d-link to get a DWL 810+ for the mac and it will work as that device does not use drivers.

so to answer to your question yes i had 2 email accounts ... as of last week only one account. The deleted emails were from the old dial up account.
but all emails went to the same inbox.

the emails are all displayed in the same inbox, but they are probably not in the same mailbox file... There may be a corruption of your old email address mailbox file.

you may be able to re-access them by importing them. In Mail go to File/Import Mailboxes... select Mail for OSX and then go to your Home/Library/Mail/Mailboxes folder in the dialog box. If you see the old dialup account named there select it and import it. That may work.

Also was the dissapearing account an imap or .mac account?

Good luck,

bd.
