*****Nevermind, I realized I needed a FTP client to do it.
I got it, thanx.

Hi, I have 15MB of personal space from university and it tells me I can upload files via ftp://xxxxxxx@individual.utoronto.ca. So I go Finder->GO->ftp://xxxxxx@individual.utoronto.ca. A new finder opens up. I try to drop files directly off to this finder and they get rejected. A error message pops up telling me I can not modify this page.

I have no idea how I am supposed to upload files to this server. Any help is appreciated.

It seems that the ftp client built into the Finder only mounts sites read only. I'm not sure why that is the case, but I've never been able to get it to mount sites as writable. It kind of make me mad, but that seems to be the case for now...

You could use the command line ftp client or one of the myriad of GUI ftp client applications available like CyberDuck, Fetch, CaptainFTP, or RBrowser (check MacUpdate or VersionTracker).

Personal favorite: Transmit. Verrrrry nice.
All opinions are entirely those of my employer. It's not my fault.
