Ive got a week old powerbook and when i try and install 10.3.3 the drive to install it on has the red sign on it saying i cant install it on this volume. Do i need to put the install file on a CD because im trying to install it from the desktop after i downloaded it from macupdate.com
Also whenever i startup iPhoto it crashes straight away, ill try and reinstall it later, but it does it every time, wheres the stability i heard macs are supposed to have in buckets? i do love the powerbook tho
Thanks

Hmmm. What version of Mac OS X do you have? (Check by selecting About This Mac from the Apple menu.) If you have 10.3 or 10.3.1, you'll need to download the combo updater.

Try to launch Disk Utility (in /Applications/Utilities) and repair permissions). See if it helps. No need to put the install package on a CD. It should work as is.

Good point. And you can also try to use Software update (from either the Apple menu or System Preferences). That way you are sure to get the right package.
