How do I remove the battery menu?

How do I remove the battery menu from the menu bar? I was reading this and tried to do it. Now I want to remove the battery menu. How could I remove it?

Go to System Preferences. Click on Energy Saver. Uncheck option to Show Battery Status in menu. Close System preferences.

I don't see Show Battery Status in Sleep, Schedule, or Options in Energy Saver.

Should be there, a checkbox at the bottom of the Energy Saver pane.

You can also just command-drag the battery menu extra off the menubar -- "poof".

That works for all (true) menu extras, BTW -- command-drag to rearrange or remove.
