I am having a problem with .webloc files (the web link files that get created when you drag a URL to the desktop). I pasted a list of URLs into TextEdit and then instead of saving the file, I dragged the contents to create a text clipping. The file it created had the text clipping icon, and I renamed the file. Now today the file has a webloc icon and I can only get from first URL from the list when I drag it back to TextEdit. Have I lost all the other URLs in the list? Is there any way to recover them?

it was originally a .textClipping file and you renamed it to a .webloc file? Try renaming it to a .textClipping file and see what happens.
