I have the infrequent (but urgent in those cases) need during the day for cPanel access to a web site I run. The webhost has cPanel running on a different port which is firewalled from me during the day.

I can do an ssh session (with X forwarding) however to my home Mac, and was wondering ok, my Mac at home has no such firewall, how can I launch a browser running there and display it on my day machine? (I can't seem to get VNC running, though prob with ssh port forwarding I could).

So, I'm at the point where I can ssh home, and pop up a color-xterm back to my machine. So I'm thinking(always dangerous), I'd need a browser compiled to run under X11 for this scenario? Any pointers to which ones are compliled thusly?

(and yeah, I can use lynx in a pinch, but oof, that is painful).

Thanks!
Mike

The same binary as runs under Aqua, or is it a different binary (I searched the Mozilla ftp site and didn't find anything pre-compiled)

Thanks,

I'm pretty sure that the same binary won't work. You could try the linux installer, but I don't know if that will work, either. I'm not sure if there are any Mac OS X X11 installers out there somewhere... you could look.

You could always try downloading the source and compiling it yourself.
