Whenever I mount a disk image from it automatically opens up which 99 percent of the time I dont want it to do. The ones i use mostly are stripped game disk images so I dont have to have CD in the drive when I play so I dont need it open. When i am downloading apps or whatever I would prefer them to just show up in the sidebar of the one window i usually have open (I love column view cuz I hate having windows open all over the place. PB screen realestate is precious). Is there someplace in the Finder or System Preferences that this option exist?

Are you using Safari for your browsing/downloading? If so, just go into Preferences and un-check the option "Open 'Save' files after downloading"...
