Hi Guys-

I'm hoping you can help me out. I just upgraded from Jaquar this past weekend to Panther 10.3.3 on my Powerbook 17" G4 1.33ghz.

I made the upgrade via the Archive and Install method as it was recommended as the way to avoid headaches others have experienced. So far, I'm lovin it.

The question is this: I let the computer go to sleep when I went to lunch today whilst in battery mode. When I came back an hour or so later to wake it up, the screen was very dim. So I plugged in the AC adaptor, it didn't make any difference, the screen was till dark. I shut down and started it up again and it was still dark. So I manually raised brightness using System pref/Display. It was set about 1/3 from the left of the bar, so I moved it over to the right about 1/3 from the right. I don't want to shorten the life of the backlight so I avoid full brightness, but I don't know what the default setting is to brightness. Anyway, is the dim screen a result of something I need to set in OSX 10.3.3? How do I know what the default brightness is?

On AC adaptor mode by the way, the energy saver is set to never. I manually put my machine to sleep when on AC power.

Thanks! Nelson
