Installer VISE is a total pile of stinking cr@p. But you know that already.

You can probably get it to work by enabling the root account. In general, this is Not A Good Thing©, but sometimes poorly designed installers make it necessary.
Launch NetInfo Manager (in /Applications/Utilities). Go to Security in the menubar, and select Enable Root User in the drop-down menu. A dialog box will tell you that there is no password for root, so make one up and enter it twice. Then log out and log in with user name "root" (minus the quotes) and the password you just created. The installer should then run, since as root you have unlimited privileges.
As soon as you finish running the installer, log out of root, log in to your regular account, and use NetInfo Manager to disable the root account.
