FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Eiffel Software Announces Release of EiffelStudio 5.4 for Mac OS X*

Quality Software meets quality hardware and operating system

EiffelStudio is based on the carefully designed programming language, Eiffel. Backed by the efficiency of the language and the powerful tools in the environment, EiffelStudio's users continuously produce 2 to 10 times as much quality software in the same amount of time as can be achieved using other languages and toolsets. Eiffel has thus gained prominence over the years amongst developers and design team leaders in challenging enterprise environments in the financial, manufacturing, and government sectors.

"Software is a crucial element when cutting company costs and EiffelStudio is the ideal tool to realize those savings." said Lawrence Miller, Director of Customer Relations for Eiffel Software. "Because of Eiffel's plain English syntax and unique Design by Contract TM mechanism, each developer is able to write and maintain up to one million lines of code, reducing companies bottom line ROI and empowering savvy business leaders to advance their organizations".

EiffelStudio 5.4 is the best way to create robust, extendible and reusable objects and libraries that can run natively on a wide variety of platforms such as Linux, Unix, Windows, .NET, VMS and Embedded systems. Eiffel's Design by ContractTM mechanism makes it especially easy to prevent a variety of bugs. Robust code is easier to test, maintain and reuse.

“Offering EiffelStudio 5.4 to the Mac OS X* users community will enable many of our
users and prospects to enjoy the power of Eiffel on their favorite platform, Mac OS X*”
says Emmanuel Stapf, head of the compiler division at Eiffel Software.

EiffelStudio 5.4 on Mac OS X* includes:

- Increased compiler speed
- Improved support for multithreading
- Major Improvements to EiffelBuild, the GUI Builder
- Better conformance to the ongoing standardization process of Eiffel through ECMA
- Added first support for new convert keyword
- Improved speed of agent calls by a factor of 2 to 3
- Support for runtime checked preconditions and post conditions on external routines
- Support for effecting a deferred routine by an external one and vice versa

According to Eiffel users, the Eiffel language is among the easiest to learn. Support for users new to the language is available from the company website together with links to Eiffel user groups worldwide.

*Version 10.3 or greater

Mr. Armand, I've used Eiffel before. In fact, my classmates and I were taught it in our early Computer Science courses at college, and I rather liked the language.

However, this is not the appropriate place for this. For starters, we don't appreciate spam on our forums. Even if we did, this would belong in the Developer Center forum, not the OSX forum. You would be both more and less likely to find interested parties there.

Please, kindly keep your product updates where they belong: http://www.versiontracker.com, http://www.macupdate.com, http://macshareware.net, and http://freshmeat.net. These four sites will surely give you all the exposure you need, given the large base of Mac developers which checks at least one of these sites daily.
You are in Soviet Russia. It is dark. Grue is likely to be eaten by YOU!

Honestly, what sort of PR does this chap think he's performing? Does he seriously think that registering and then spamming 9 separate forums with the same press release is going to be helpful for business?

Why would I want to buy development tools from a company that employs the same marketing tactics as porn sites and viagra resellers?

Again spamming all the forums. Please ban this user. This happened with the last release.
