I'm finally going to make the switch from 10.2.8 to Panther.

I have a 17" 1Ghz AlBook with LaCie d2 400 Firewire drive and a Lacie d3 400/800/USB drive.

I have Panther 10.3 that Apple Developer Relations sent me back when Panther was released.

Am I gonna get nuked if I run the installer to install a clean Panther on my d3 LaCie drive? When was the firewire bug fixed (what version of Panther??)

My thinking is I'm going to install on the d3 Drive while the d2 Drive holds my backups. Once the install is successful on my external drive, I will also do a clean install on the internal drive of my 17". The d2 drive will be kept offline in case I get bombed.

Any suggestions?? Thanks!
