I just started using the address book with my bluetooth phone (T610). It seems that when someone calls the notifications don't pop to the front. Is this how it is supposed to work? Seems to me that notification of an incoming phone call should come to the front. I generally keep my ringer off at work and was hoping this would be a good way to screen phone calls without interrupting my co-workers, but if it doesn't popup a dialog it isn't very useful.

When bluetooth is enabled, a little button with the bluetooth symbol should show up next to the buttons at the top of the Address Book window. I think this button has to be on (the BT symbol should glow blue) in order for the notification dialogs to pop up. Maybe this button has nothing to do with the notifications, but I always have the button on when my T616 is paired to my computer, and I always get the prompts.

Yeah. It's not that I don't get the prompts, they just don't pop to the front. If I bring AB to the front, then I see them but otherwise they are hidden behind whatever app I am using.

I think this is a recent thing, I remember when i first started bluetoothing the notifications but recently (10.3.3) the notifications don't come to the front.
You are right, this is very annoying.

I remember a thread a few months back regarding this and it's a known issue and pain. Sometimes I'll get text messages and not know or I'll have my ringer off and miss a call because the window does not pop to the front. I've managed to keep my phone on vibrate so I at least get some kind of notification.

It popped up in the front in Jaguar.
In Panther, Address Book needs to be the front most App.
kind of useless in that regard, though it acts more accordingly to the UI guidelines
I would be fine with it working like iChat. Where the window pops up, but it doesn't change the front most app.

Can someone put a screenshot of what the notification looks like? I am going to get a phone soon and want to know how it will work with my Mac (V600).

Also,it seems even if a phone is listed as supported device a Apple, it doesn't mean the Address Book app works with all of them.
My Nokia 6600 is a supported device. All works well except for incoming notification if Address Book, which hasn't been updated in awhile.
