Is there any way to record and then play back a series of button presses in either Safari or IE??

I have a series of button presses on web pages that I need to do over and over and over. It would be sweet if I could record them, such that I do one thing, and it then does the long series of button presses for me.

In the ancient Mac days there were macro recorders that could record a series of button presses. X11 had similar capability. Any such thing for OS X??
