I reset my computer 2 days ago and the monitor came on, fans spun up, and the grey apple appeared but then nothing happened. I let it sit thinking it might be repairing or otherwise. 30 min later...still sitting there. I had to pull the plug to get it to shutdown.

I booted into Open Firmware Mode and reset the nvram etc. and then started up again while resetting the pram but the problem persisted.

I've also run Disk Utility and permissions repair on the disk with no problems found. I have been able to get it into verbose mode once and it was continuously scrolling some kind of error down the screen.

OS9 boots up fine from my hard disk after changing the startup folder using a 9.2 CD. Is there anything else I can do before dragging the whole works onto my other partition in OS9 and reinstalling Panther? Thanks for any help.

System Info:

iMac 333Mhz Rev. D
192MB Ram
OS 10.3.3
40gb hard drive partitioned in 8gb and 30gb portions. 1.5gb free on the 8 and 10 free on the 30.

It'd help if you posted the error message displayed when booting in verbose mode.

I've tried getting back into verbose mode and haven't been able to do it. It was a continuously scrolling repeat but I don't remember exactly what it said.
