Hi

Is is posible for me the permanently move the desktop 'Macintosh HD' Icon the the left hand side of my desktop? I currently sit adium on the right, and so want to move the icon somewhere else. Is it also posible to remove this icon from the desktop all together?

To move it alltogether go to the Finder Preferences, then under the General tab it has a list of things to go on the desktop, just uncheck what you need.

Ive not heard of being able to move them to the left side of the screen though.

revs
I free'd my mind... now it won't come back.

In Finder: hit Apple-J. Uncheck "Keep arranged by". Now move any icon to any place you like.

You may want to check or uncheck "Snap to grid".
