I just went through the installation using the three installation disks on my 800 Mhz iBook Combo Drive without any apparent problems until I rebooted and eventually I got this message
"I cannot start the X Server (your graphical interface). It is likely it is not set up correctly. Would you like to view the X server output to diagnose the problem?"
When I tab to yes, I get the following,
"Would you like me to try the X configuration program? Note that you will need the root password for this."
I entered this and then i am told that the dccprobe failed.
Anybody tell me what I can do to launch the GUI? I am in uncharted territory for me. Thanks.
I thought YDL didn't support the iBook G4s yet. When YDL doesn't support something, usually it's really the video card that isn't supported, which would explain your problem. Poke around their website, and check out their mailing lists.
