I have installed Panther and have created a limited user. I have configured this account to autologin upon boot. I have two disk images I wish to have mounted for this user. Is there any way I can have these images mount automaticly upon boot.

I think if you mount the 2 images, run System Preferences, choose Accounts, choose the account of the person who the system logs into automatically, click on Startup Items, then drage the 2 mounted disks there, they will mount automatically at boot time.
Give it a whirl.

It fails because this is a limited user. So then I think I need to give them access to the application that mounts these images, "Disk Utility". It does not use this app, it uses "DiskImageMounter", which does not exist on the drive. Therefore I cannot give this limited user the permision to use this app, hence the mount fails.
Thank you though.........

file:///System/Library/CoreServices/...ageMounter.app
It exists on my hard disk.

Nasrudin sat on a river bank when someone shouted to him from the opposite side: "Hey! how do I get across?" "You are across!" Nasrudin shouted back.

Thank you so very much. I used finder to try to search for this app before and it did not come up. One more question though, how can I turn off the checksum and possibly keep them from opening when mounted?
Thanks again

The man page for hdiutil (indirectly) suggests that you might be able to suppress verification for all disk image mounting apps by writing to the com.apple.frameworks.diskimages defaults domain, but doesn't clearly say how. Some more investigation on that front might net you a solution, though.
As for keeping the images from displaying their contents in a Finder window when mounted... there's a field in the volume's finder info that controls which directory should be presented on mount. Probably the easiest way to change this is to make a new disk image with the current image's contents. (Also, IIRC the third-party app DropDMG allows you to control this directly.)

Solution
By the way, didn't Jaguar have the option/preference to turn this off via Disk Copy preferences?
