too many concurrent SMTP connections ?

At first it looked like mail problem, but finally I think it's about OS X.

Entourage reported the error this morning “4.0.0 Too many concurrent SMTP connections” while my friends had no problem. Then, I tried Mail and Eudora, error! Logged in another account, tried again, same error!

Well, POP3 was OK, Safari was fine, everything about Internet was fine except SMTP error. So I went to the help desk. They had no idea. At last, I got the advice, tried to use another IP address.

So I changed it and it turns out everything is OK. Now, can anybody tell what's wrong with my OS X?
