Hi everyone,

I'm a recent switcher and have a few Qs on the Mail.app and address book.

First, I know there are multiple threads on this app in the forums but I have specific Q for Mail.app: is there a way to keep mail message attachments as just that and not have Mail display them inline in the message? In Entourage if I forward 10 messages from work I would like to keep on my home machine they appear just as in Outlook, i.e. as attachments. One can just drag and rope these into the Inbox and they will show as unread messages.

However, in Mail these attachments are shown inline and not as attachments which is a big annoyance as I would like to switch to Mail completely. I guess I could use Entourage for this specific purpose and then import them into Mail but I would like to avoid this if possible.

Can anyone help me? Would really appreciate any input you might have.

Second, in the address book the image one can choose for each entry is pathetically small. I mean you can't tell who it is. Is there a way to enlarge this - either through Address Book or maybe a script?

Thanks in advance.

As far as viewing an attachment by itself (and not as part of a message) in Mail, I don't think Mail allows that. I guess Mail follows the format that any file attachments sent via email must be included with the message it was sent with. You can always download the attachment elsewhere on your computer, but I don't think that will work for what you want to do.

The images for Address Book entries are 48 x 48 pixels in size (I think). Whatever the size is, they are no bigger, no smaller. While I wish there were an option to adjust the size (like with standard icons), I have no trouble with Identifying who's in the image. Using a good quality image and properly cropping it helps a lot with that.

Send the attachments as something that can't be displayed inline (eg, zipped, stuffed, etc. Or multi-page PDFs).

Not sure why you really want to do this anyway.
