I have tried numerous times in all the browser i have to download some mp3 files to disk. The files are 60-80 meg, however every download attempt sees the files stop downloading at less than 1 meg.

Unfortunately, these files cannot be resumed since the browsers and the Finder maintain that files have been completed.

its painful to wake up in the morning to find only 456kb of the file downloaded.

Any idea why this is occurring and how to resolve this?

Something doesn't smell right, if all browsers show this behavior.

You can always try curl as a last resort. Open the Terminal and type:
Code:
curl -o URL-of-mp3
If this doesn't work either, then something is probably wrong with the server end. I'd contact the server admins.

yeah, the 456kb thing sounds more like a space issue OR the serving computer isn't really holding the full 60-80mb file as it says. If curl doesn't work, try posting the link on these forums (um, unless its pr0n or something). Someone with high-speed (like me) should be able to test that 60-80mb download in just a couple of minutes.

not sure what 'curl' is supposed to do, but nothing happens in the terminal after executing that command.

Downloading to my boot disk with 4+gig free.
