Just got my new 15" PB. I was having trouble installing uControl, which had recently been updated for 10.3.3 So I check the build and it's 7G43 on my new PB. 10.3.3 on my 12" PB is build 7F44. So how can these both by 10.3.3?

Also anyone have any tips on installing uControl. I tried to install the kext, startup item, and preference pane from my 12"PB but no joy. Any tips on getting uControl working again?

7G43 is a "machine-specific" 10.3.3 build...not uncommon at all for Apple to do this as they have in the past many times...

Sorry, not sure on uControl.

I would say, go to Apple's site and get the 10.3.3 update from there and install it over the top of the 10.3.3 your 15" came w/.
It should not hurt anything seeing that the build on your 15" is older than the one that is available for download.

My 15" has 7G43. The 12" has the downloadable version that's 7F44. So the 15" one is newer. Thanks anyway.

Yes, and it's a pain in the ass to sysadmins who have pre-made images that can't be installed onto the new machines.

It's been that way for years. I know; I've dealt with it.

7G43 has had the debug code removed so it's much faster

That happens every time a new model arrives. 10.3.4 is just around the corner.

Yep, every new model I get I re-create the image on the latest hardware for full compatability...

There are several issues with 10.3.4 that have yet been solved. It is more like down the street and around the corner.
