I had just rebuilt my drive with Diskwarrior 3 (everything went fine), removed the boot disk, and restarted. Before the OS X Apple logo came up, the screen went gray and there was an OS9-like network globe that flashed for 5 seconds, followed by a small OS9-like folder with the Finder face on it. It only lasted for about 10 seconds total, which is still enough for me to freak out. I have never run OS9 or Classic on my iBook, so I'm wondering what's going on. All seems well right now (booted to X and working fine), but I don't want to chance a restart until I find out what those icons meant. Nick

p.s. - I just rebuilt the drive b/c I hadn't for a while and it said things were 35% out of place.

I tried running a search to no avail.

Do not fear, it simply sounds like somehow Disk Warrior altered your startup disk setting, and your Mac is looking for an OS 9 system to boot from before finally selecting OS X. Booting from a CD and then restarting without first using Startup Disk can leave the computer looking for the absent CD and searching awhile before it boots regularly. A simple trip to System Preferences: Startup Disk and a selection of your OS X System folder should cure the behavior.
