If you keep AFP open, people can log on and check out what you have, but if you have your system locked down, you are find.

P.S. Out of the box, you are fine.

If you keep a password on your screensaver and have it lock after a short amount of idle time, then there is little in the way of increased risk. There's a slight increase -there always is- but not much of one.
