Hi,

While I'm waiting for my iBook to arrive, I thought I should read up on OS X. This will be my first Mac, so I'm a proper newbie. I've already ordered The OS X Missing Manual by David Pogue, but it will take a while to get it (I live in Morway). So in the mean time: does anyone know of some good online manuals out there?

You can find a lot of documentation on Apple's web site including the iBook user manual and OS X documentation in the support section here.

I hope you'll enjoy your new iBook ! welcome

The funny thing is, you wont need any books.

I didn't. When I switched....I just did it. Haven't looked back.

One word of advice.....don't try too hard. Coming from Windows, you are used to fighting to get things to work. In OS X, things just work.

Case in point. I spent 15 minutes trying to figure out how to connect to a shared printer to print a document. The whole while, all I had to do was hit "Print" and the shared printer was there automatically--no gyrations required. It just worked.

Welcome to a better place.
signatures are a waste of bandwidth
especially ones with political tripe in them.
