Is it possible to write multiple sessions to a DVD-R? I was hoping to use my superdrive for backup of data well under 4.7 GB, but wanted to used DVD-R's to do so. I have a PowerBook with a UJ-816 drive. Is it possible with 10.3.3, another program, or at all? Any information on this would be most appreciated.

edit: my guess was wrong

You'll need a program like Toast. It can do multisession CDs, and I would assume multisession DVDs are possible. Never did it myself though.

Toast never let me do multi-session DVDs. It says multi-session discs are not part of the DVD spec, and I have no reason to think Toast has it wrong

In case anyone is wondering, I've talked with both Roxio and Apple (it took me a little while to find people who knew) and both say that this is not supported. The OS X help clearly suggests that it is possible (at least that's what it says on my machine). Ah well, maybe in the future.
