Quite by accident, I discovered that when I am in Finder and press Command+Shift+Y, two Stickies will open. One is normal, but the other will also contain an icon of the desktop in it.

Is this just me or do others get these same results? And if it is common, is this "feature" documented somewhere?

Wot's happinin?

I just tried this, with the same result. Except instead of an icon from the desktop, the second sticky I got contained a PDF I had open in Preview

Now that's weird!

As others have pointed out - the one with the content is due to the Service which is available to all apps that support it (Cocoa based apps and those Carbon apps that have been coded properly)

The other blank one appears to be some sort of bug - I also always get a new blank sticky whenever the app is launched even though I haven't set it up to do so.
