Does anyone know of the solution to my downloads stacking up on top of each other in one corner of my desktop? This just started happening today. Last Saturday I installed FruitMenu and everything has worked fine…until today. I've tried uninstalling FruitMenu, repairing permissions, and restarting my iMac FP but nothing helps.

There's a whole thread on Panther discussions board and no one has found a solution. http://discussions.info.apple.com/We...1715@.599f265d

I'm hoping FruitMenu isn't the problem 'cuz I love that app.

I'm using Panther 10.3.3.

Any ideas?

i've had that happen too. Finder > View > Arrange by name

or, just create ~/Downloads and tell everything to land in there.

Thank you, philzilla

This is starting to sound like a Panther bug. So we just have to *work around*? It's strange that it just started happening. confused:

Thanks again!

It only happens to me when the desktop starts getting pretty full. Perhaps the Finder can't find spots when things get too complex.

not on my iBook. it happens when the first column (far right) of icons reaches the bottom of the screen. i'm pretty sure this is a 10.3.x glitch, as i don't recall it before 10.3
