I should be receiving my new 15" PowerBook today. For the most part my currect G4 DP Tower will become my wife's machine and I will primarilly use the 'Book.
I would like to keep some folders synced between the two machines. Primarilly the Documents folder in root, and several of the folders in my home directory.
Any suggestions as to programs which will allow me to do this? I am aware I can use iSync and .mac, but when you are talking about GBs of information, this is not an economically feasible solution.

If you have them networked you could use Synk, http://www.decimus.net/synk/, to do the job. It's not automatic, but I like the simple interface and the fact that I have control. I'm not sure what the ownership and permissions issue will be in the folders (Synk does have some comparing of permissions but I don't use that aspect of it so can't comment. Also the price is right.
Hope this has been of some help. Good luck.
