I just started getting this error when I do an 'update-all':

checking for gcc... gcc
checking whether the C compiler (gcc -L/sw/lib) works... no
configure: error: installation or configuration problem: C compiler cannot create executables.
### execution of ./configure failed, exit code 1
Failed: compiling libjpeg-6b-6 failed


I checked the FAQ, but couldn't find anything directly related. I'm running 10.3.3 and the latest version of Fink. I just turned on the unstable packages so that I could get clustalw. Any ideas?

You have all the appropriate dev tools installed?

Yeah, and I have installed lots of other things using fink. The error about gcc not being able to create executables seems really strange.

Perhaps I should reinstall the dev tools?

You could. You could also report "not working" on the fink package with FinkCommander. I've done that and gotten very prompt help before.

I did something to my Mac OS X dev tools install one time where I was "unable to create binaries" with gcc. Reinstalling the dev tools worked for me.
