Alright, here's a strange question to be posting here, but I'm not sure where else to put it:

I have an old Compaq that I'm setting up on my network that has some Macs. Which is the version of Windows that works BEST when integrating into the Mac network. It comes with Win2K. I have no Mac server software to worry about, it's more like file sharing across an Active Directory domain.

Any Windows version is pretty much the same as far as Mac integration/file sharing is concerned...

I have no idea why this is, but this has been my experience.

I have:
- 17" flat panel iMac, 1 GHz, Panther
- 2.26 GHz P4 Dell running Win XP Home
- 833 Mhz P4 running Win XP Pro

The Windows boxes see each other just fine.
The XP Pro and iMac communicate just fine.
The XP Home and iMac simply refuse to find each other, regardless of any setting. I've tried changing workgroups, etc. etc. I have tried off and on for almost a year, with no luck.

I haven't tried it as much with Panther, but I did try a few times, and did not gain anything.

Anyone else have something I could try?

Too many Apple/Mac products to even bother listing!
